About the Journal
For over 50 years, Hume Studies has been publishing important, original, peer reviewed work bearing on the life and thought of Scots Philosopher, Historian, and Economist David Hume (1771–76). A subscription based journal, issued twice yearly and distributed to institutional library subscribers and all members of the Hume Society, the journal publishes in English, French, German, and Spanish. Volumes prior to the five most recent are openly accessible through the Society’s website. The journal is receptive to a wide variety of methods and approaches in fields including philosophy, history, psychology, economics, politics, and religion, provided the work contributes to the understanding of Hume’s thought, meets the highest standards of scholarship and demonstrates mastery of Hume’s writings and the pertinent secondary literature.
